Bio Beefarmer Margarita Stankova

We are Dimitar and Margarita Stankov from Bourgas, enthusiasts, and optimists who believe that even after 55 years one can find a new, very different occupation from the previous one. We fell in love with the beauty of Strandja Mountain, and our hobby - beekeeping become our main business. Beekeeping has been a family business since 1980, which we stopped in 2008. We have revived the business in the memory of our father, Peter Kirov, who was one of the best beekeepers in Strandja.

 

        

        
We own two apiaries located in the picturesque area "Garvan", the region of Pismenovo, Primorsko Municipality. Dozens of springs in the area flow into the nearby Garvan River.

The place is exceptionally rich in wild forest and meadow honey-bearing vegetation which allows not only to fill the needs of bee pollen and nectar for the normal development of bee families but also for the production of polyfloral herbal honey. Among the honey-bearing vegetation, there are also many medicinal plants, and the nectar, bees collect from them, has healing properties.

The wide oak forests that surround the area are a source of extraction for the unique for the Strandja Mountain region - manna honey.

The two apiaries consist of 100 honey bees families in total. Our bee families are bio-certified by Balkan Biocert Ltd. certification company.

The equipment and inventory, which we use to produce bio honey are produced by leading manufacturers such as Lyson - Poland and Lega - Italy.
