Strandja mountain has unique biodiversity and ecosystems. The three surrounding seas, the Black Sea, the Sea of ​Marmara and the Aegean Sea, develop a highly specific climate. Thanks to it, evergreen plants and flora communities, characteristic of the flora of the Caucasus and Asia Minor, survived the last big icing on Earth and flourish in Strandja Mountain. Bulgarian territory included in the five protected natural areas in Central and Eastern Europe. Of all the protected nature areas, Strandja Nature Park has the most types of habitats - 121. The protected territories with independent status are 32. Some of the most famous of them are Paroria, Veleka River Mouth, Dokuzak, Rudenovo, Silistar, Krivinizovo, Moryane, The Stone and others.
